Climate Policy
We recognise that our activities impact on the environment. As a socially responsible company, we endeavour to minimise this impact as much as possible. Before we began our business we undertook an environmental impact assessment with independent professionals. This provides the baseline from which we can assess the changes our business has on the environment.
A full environmental audit is carried out every six months by the University of Zimbabwe and independent consultants. These audits demonstrate to Zimbabwe’s Parks and Wildlife Management Authority that we are a responsible business; that we are maintaining this precious environment.
Lake Harvest endeavours to be sustainable in social, environmental and commercial terms and aims to:
- Operate in compliance with all applicable Zimbabwe’s laws and regulations
- Attain international best practice standards
- Continually monitor the environmental impact of its operations
- Conserve the integrity of the water resource which forms the basis of the business
- Maintain a safe and healthy working environment
- Integrate environmental planning and management into operations
- Educate and train all employees in our environmental responsibilities
- Raise awareness within the community and industry on issues related to the environment
